2. Reclaimed Teak & Ironwood Gates & Furniture.

These products are all hand crafted made from reclaimed teak and ironwood. They are extremely durable for UK weather, very beautiful, and at very affordable prices. The gates are primarily for anyone involved in landscape gardening, though there is a ‘fieldgate’ available made from teak, but using bolts etc. which can be retailed at £125 inc. of VAT each if ordered in sufficient quantity. Delivery costs £125+VAT UK mainland. Posts £150.

3. Bird Scarer - EYEscare

The EYE-Scare from Techneat Engineering is an effective new device to keep bird pests off crops this winter. The EYE-scare’s robust yellow plastic-moulded fin, with distinctive reflective ‘hawk-eye’ mirror decals, rotates in the wind, to create bright flashes and movement that deters bird pests.

A survey of rural local authorities across the UK, commissioned by Defra, revealed more than 40% of agriculture-related noise complaints received over the course of a year were related to gas guns and acoustic bird scarers. The Voluntary Code of Practice for use of gas guns creates many ‘no-go zones’ and time restrictions that require the use of complementary techniques. The EYE-Scare is constantly on guard, creates no noise and no neighbour complaints.

The EYE-Scare is designed to complement kites, scarecrows and other techniques. EYE-Scares are recommended to be used in sets of three per field, set in a triangular pattern up to 150m apart. EYE-Scares should be moved around on a weekly basis.

4. Biomass Boilers for Oilseed Rape

If you grow oilseed rape and are considering updating an oil-fired or gas fired central heating system, or converting old buildings to offices and are about to install new heating equipment then take a moment to look at the following information. The KSM Multistoker Hybren biomass boiler is unique in its ability to crush oilseed rape seed, extract the oil for alternative use and run the central heating off the resultant meal. Depending on the particular application, the oil can be pumped from the unit into a larger storage vessel either to be used as biodiesel following filtration, or alternatiely, the oil can be used directly in oil burners such as the KSM rapeoil burner.

The pressed rape seed form oily pellets which pass out of the press into the stoker feed screw. This screw transports the pellets into the stoker for combustion. As a rule of thumb for every 100kg of rape seed under this system, 30 litres of oil are produced.

The KSM Multistoker Hybren is equipped with electronic ignition, which allows the system to effectively shut down, when heat is not required and to operate when it is. The Hybren is also able to run on grain, wood pellets, and firewood, by simply switching the control programme settings.

The KSM Multistoker Hybren is available for domestic use with the same outputs and sizes as the standard Multistoker units. Also, the hybren is available with outputs upto 210 kw.
