4. Biomass Boilers for Oilseed Rape
If you grow oilseed rape and are considering updating an oil-fired or gas fired central heating system, or converting old buildings to offices and are about to install new heating equipment then take a moment to look at the following information. The KSM Multistoker Hybren biomass boiler is unique in its ability to crush oilseed rape seed, extract the oil for alternative use and run the central heating off the resultant meal. Depending on the particular application, the oil can be pumped from the unit into a larger storage vessel either to be used as biodiesel following filtration, or alternatiely, the oil can be used directly in oil burners such as the KSM rapeoil burner.
The pressed rape seed form oily pellets which pass out of the press into the stoker feed screw. This screw transports the pellets into the stoker for combustion. As a rule of thumb for every 100kg of rape seed under this system, 30 litres of oil are produced.
The KSM Multistoker Hybren is equipped with electronic ignition, which allows the system to effectively shut down, when heat is not required and to operate when it is. The Hybren is also able to run on grain, wood pellets, and firewood, by simply switching the control programme settings.
The KSM Multistoker Hybren is available for domestic use with the same outputs and sizes as the standard Multistoker units. Also, the hybren is available with outputs upto 210 kw.

If you are interested in converting your non-renewable
heating to a system of this nature, or intend to use
other fuel, such as wood, miscanthus or grain KSM-Stoker
have a range of boilers to offer. Their knowledge does
not simply rest with providing and installing equipment.
They also offer consultation and can help you design
from your existing system forwards. The other great
advantage is they are based in the midlands, with easy
access across the length and breadth of the UK.
Due to the individuality of each situation, heating demands and construction requirements it is extremely difficuly to add realistic prices to these illustrations. We have thus chosen not to add a price list, but simply suggest that you register your interest for an informal discussion around your needs and ideals and from that a better picture can be drawn of likely requirements and cost.
