Autumn-Sown Crops

    Winter Wheat – Feed Wheat +£20/t premium. Einstein Yield. Eastern, Southern Counties & Midlands.
    a. No hagberg or protein standards required!

    Winter Wheat – seed production. After single break or same wheat variety.
    a. East coast to M1, Thames to Firth of Fourth.
    b. Range of pricing options - Viscount, Oakley, Cassius + others.

    Winter Barley – seed production. After single break or same barley variety.

    Winter Oats – Feed Wheat base price+ 35% as bonus / tonne.
    a. National coverage. £800 - £1000/ha GM
    b. Very successful contract, robust crop for UK climate.
    c. Excellent quality retention during wet harvest.

    Winter Oats – Seed Production
    Winter oats do not need to vernalise - so can be drilled well into December.
    a. If it's marginal land and you can't get malting barley consider seed oats.
    b. Premium over Feed Wheat, or milling oats
    c. Cheap to grow and excellent yield opportunity. Talk to us without delay.
    d. All regions - Southern England of particular interest.

Spring Crops - Plan your 2009 Cropping

    Spring OSR – virgin, or 10 year clear of crucifer types.
    a. Hybrid seed multiplication of varieties for EU market
    b. Requires an experienced grower who likes a challenge!
    c. Breeder looking for long term relationship.

    White “Mammoth” Millet – up to Vale of York. Contract of the Season
    a. Neither rabbit nor pigeon, nor pheasant prone
    b. Bred for UK conditions, – excellent late spring crop.
    c. Ideal for light or medium soil type, following sugar beet, potatoes or as an extra break to extend OSR rotation.
    d. Not susceptible to any known disease in UK.
    e. Probably the best combinable spring crop available – must be viewed.
    f. Serious alternative to winter or spring oilseed rape.
    g. 100% UK-grown seed. Fully traceable. Guaranteed purity.

    Hemp Straw - Significant new national break crop - ranking among one of the BEST gross margins available relative to location. Can be grown as far north as Aberdeen. Ideally complements a rotation where peas or rape are too close, improving yields across all crops.
